"Mary's positive approach and drama-free interpersonal skills have kept the team focused on the solution throughout the challenges we have faced on this project.  Mary has patiently supported me through the process in regards to both technical and project management issues.  She has been very skilled at creating consensus among the project’s diverse stakeholders, so that the final design reflects the main priorities of all. I am impressed with the ease of the process under Mary’s leadership."

Parks and Recreation
The Kansas City Missouri Department of Parks and Recreation contracted with us to design the completion of a project that began over ten-years earlier.  Situated among the stone ruins of a 1910 Parks Department  mow barn, this environmentally-sustainable, universally-accessible 21st-century addition to a 1997 community black-box theater, meets the project’s budget and programatic requirements, and builds on the eccentric Post-Modern design of it’s first phase.  An LED marquee provides exterior lighting while creating a tongue-in cheek reference to the off beat theatrical productions within and is a visual cue to the entrance.  Ceramic frit glazing captures views the well-loved “ruin” courtyard while greatly reducing the solar heat load into the building, reducing energy consumption, and improving occupant comfort.  The new phase reuses the existing cedar siding and limestone cladding to reduce landfill debris.
